Juniata College Alumni, Families and Friends gathered at Blair County
Ballpark (home of the Altoona Curve) for a picnic and AA minor league baseball
game event sponsored by the Mid-State Juniata Alumni Club on Saturday, August
20th. A total of 47 individuals came out to enjoy the evening and hung around
for the game until a thunderstorm rolled through the Altoona area and chased
numerous fans away.
It was an event that "spoke" to many decades as alumni from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s were in attendance!
The outing started off with a picnic buffet on the first-base side of the stadium. Following dinner, Claire Barnard Miller '86 threw out the ceremonial first pitch as the Mid-State Alumni representative. The Curve delighted the local fans by posting a 9-2 victory over the Reading Phillies.
Check out the photo gallery above to see some of the fun that was enjoyed by those in attendance!
Special thanks goes to Paul Beckenbaugh '92, who organized and hosted the event.
