Delaware Valley Alumni Club Philadelphia Zoo Event

For the fifth straight year, the Delaware Valley Alumni Club hosted an event at the Philadelphia Zoo and this time around a total of 29 alumni, family and friends journeyed to America's First Zoo on Saturday, June 10. Children young and old were thrilled to take in all of the animals and attractions. Karen Heart '88, the organizer of the event, even rounded up "zoo keys" for all of the children so they could listen to animal sounds and facts at certain exhibits.

With plenty of sunshine to go around, those in attendance enjoyed time to view some of the exhibits before gathering at the Picnic Grove for lunch. After lunch, everyone again went through the zoo at their own pace and got to check out the animals who call the Philly Zoo home. The return of the big cats in a new exhibit called Big Cat Falls added some extra excitement. Alumni attendees represented the decades of the 60's, 80's, 90's, and 00's.

Late in the day, a few alumni were pleasantly surprised by running into Drew Waligora '05 and Angela Condor '05. Drew and Angela were visiting the zoo with Drew's family and hadn't known that there was an alumni event being held that day.

Special thanks to Karen Heart '88 for organizing this event!
