Women's tennis finishes fall slate with 8-1 win over Lancaster Bible

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Juniata College women's tennis swept all three doubles matches and carried five of the six singles clashes on its way to an 8-1 win over Lancaster Bible College, Thursday afternoon at the Linden Hall School courts in Lancaster, Pa.
The win allowed Juniata to complete its fall schedule with a 4-2 record, while Lancaster Bible fell to 4-5.
The Juniata tandem of Katie Healy (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) and Megan Phillips (Jefferson Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) opened with a 8-4 win at no. 1 doubles over LBC's Nicole Karschner and Brianna Funk. The pairings of Stacie Beegle (Schellsburg, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) and Lauren Perow (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area), as well as Rachel Adams (McLean, Va./Jakarta Int'l School) and Laura Gregory (Morrisonville, N.Y./Seton Central Catholic) both posted 8-5 wins at no. 2 and 3 doubles respectively.
In singles play, Juniata won one through five singles, with two matches going deep into supertiebreakers to produce a winner. Perow posted a 2-6, 6-3, 11-9 win over Lancaster Bible's Funk at no. 3 singles, while Gregory fought the Chargers' Michelle Ringler to a 4-6, 6-3, 14-12 score to get the victory at no. 5 singles.
