JUNIATA MEN\'S BASKETBALL EARNS CONVINCING NON-CONFERENCE WIN Juniata 77, Gallaudet 31 HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Juniata College men\'s basketball team came roaring out of the gates and never slowed down as the Eagles won their final non-conference game of the season in convincing fashion, topping Gallaudet 77-31 in Huntingdon Monday night. Juniata is now 6-7 on the year while Gallaudet fell to 2-9. Chris Jasiota (Oil City/Oil City) led all players with 14 points, all of which came in the first half as the Eagles shot a solid 58 percent from the field and led by 25 at halftime. Thirteen different Juniata players scored in the contest. The Eagles got off to a quick start as a three from Nick Hager (Franklin/Franklin) was the first score of the game. Jasiota then got started quickly as he proceeded to score 13 of the team\'s next 16 points as the Blue and Gold raced out to an 18-point lead with 10:54 remaining in the half. Back-to-back threes from Gallaudet\'s Johnny Jackson and David Farias whittled the edge to 14 points, but the Eagles countered with a 13-2 run over the next four minutes to build a 36-11 edge. The lead would stay at 25 heading into the locker room when Hager buried a long three in the final moments. The Eagles kept up the offensive and defensive pressure in the second half and Juniata moved in front by 33 after consecutive hoops from Brent Ferko (Freeport/Sarver) and Brian Cannon (Fallston/Fallston, Md.) with 9:24 remaining in the game. Juniata went to its bench but it did not slow down the attack as Juniata continued to pull away with the final margin of 46 points coming as the largest in the game. Juniata shot 51 percent from the field as a team, and limited the visiting Bison to just 23 percent shooting. The home team was also dominant on the glass, holding a 41-29 edge in the rebounding department. Jasiota finished with 14 points by shooting 6 for 8 from the field and added six rebounds and three blocks. Cannon was also in double figures with 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Hager also finished with eight, and Sean McConnell (Bishop Guilfoyle/Westminster, Colo.) added eight points off the bench. Aaron Chamberlain (Tussey Mountain/Wood) and Eric Mueseler (Latrobe/Latrobe) each passed out three assists for Juniata. Jaclson finished with a team-high nine points for the Bison as the Eagles did not allow a single player to score in double figures for the first time this season. Sekoe White and Farias each scored six for Gallaudet and Onyemachi Davis grabbed nine rebounds to lead all players. White also dished out a team-high three assists. The Eagles will begin a stretch of 12-straight conference games to end the season on Wednesday when the Blue and Gold hit the road to face Susquehanna University. ###
