The museum's collections include a number of paintings by French, English, Dutch, and Italian artists from the 17th through the 20th centuries. The largest number of the museum's European works date from the 19th century, however, there are important earlier examples including Sebastiano Conca's Rebecca at the Well, and Sir Thomas Lawrence's Portrait of a Young Boy with Dog. A painting which recently received conservation treatment revealing new clarity, depth and beauty is one that may now be attributable to the 18th century Italian painter Giovanni Battista Tiepolo; we feature the "before" and "after" images here.
