Vice President for Enrollment

Juniata College, a national college of liberal arts and sciences in south central Pennsylvania, seeks nominations and applications for the position of Vice President for Enrollment.  The new Vice President will report to President James Troha, who joined the Juniata community in May 2013.  Juniata is looking for candidates with an inspirational leadership style that is anchored in integrity and experience in enrollment management. The Vice President will oversee admissions and financial aid and will partner with other senior leaders on marketing and retention efforts.

JUNIATA COLLEGE: Founded in 1876, Juniata is an independent, co-educational college of liberal arts and sciences.  One of 40 colleges featured in Loren Pope’s influential book, Colleges That Change Lives, Juniata is recognized particularly for its distinctive campus climate and the achievements of its students.  Juniata is regularly recognized in the Chronicle of Higher Education’s survey identifying “Great Colleges to Work For,” including achieving “Honor Roll” status in four of the last five years, and in 2012 was one of only five colleges to win the Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization.

Juniata College takes an intentional approach to ensuring affordability, providing a conditional guarantee of financial aid, as well as a guarantee of graduation in four years or fewer, both to maximize career momentum as well as to minimize debt and costs.

While an independent Board of Trustees now governs the College, Juniata retains a relationship with the Church of the Brethren and continues to prepare individuals “for the useful occupations of life.”  This theme resonates with Juniata students, 30% of whom take advantage of the two-adviser system to design their own major or Program of Emphasis (POE) tailored to their individual goals and interests. More than 80% of Juniata’s graduates completed an internship and 44% have studied abroad. Overall, Juniata students, faculty, and staff enjoy the beauty and functionality of a quintessential small college campus and the strong sense of community that characterizes the College.
