Director of Administrative Information Services

Primary Role

The Director of Administrative Information Services (AIS) coordinates and insures the provision of administrative computing support for the business functions of the college, involving college-wide planning, evaluation, acquisition, implementation and support of institutional data resources used within an enterprise resource planning system.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities


  1. Monitors, evaluates and recommends modifications and upgrades of administrative computing systems for business, financial aid, student information, and human resources.
  2. Coordinates design, planning, and overall implementation of projects to upgrade/replace the college’s administrative information systems. Coordinate project schedule with vendor for software resources. Provide necessary user training.
  3. Writes programs and creates data screens to support administrative information needs. Assist in transferring centrally stored data to user PCs.
  4. Troubleshoots problems with administrative data and systems and makes appropriate corrections.
  5. Insures file back up and security capabilities. Establishes standards for documentation, system design, and utilization.
  6. Performs related duties as assigned.

Supervision Required/Given

This position is supervised by the Assistant Vice President and Chief Information Officer under general guidelines and direction and must be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others.  This position supervises 1 full-time employee and has indirect supervision for 2 additional full-time employees.
