Study Abroad in Information Technology or Computer Science
The professions of IT are typically global. Awareness and understanding of international issues are vital for students who expect to work in teams of developers and potentially climb the corporate ladder. Students who have had abroad experiences are very successful in acquiring positions in larger industries. The ideal time for Computer Science and IT students is junior year. Our particular arrangements with FH-Muenster (Steinfurt) encourages students to study there during the fall semester (their winter), as there are more options for students who are still learning German. Other placements at Lincoln or other English speaking universities are not so critical. There are no particular limitations due to scheduling at Juniata. Students who study abroad typically enroll in upper level IT/CS courses that either match or are not available at Juniata. Course selection is handled at the individual level.
